The 2022 Hyundai Kona is a stylish subcompact SUV with seating for five and, in N Line or Limited form, a potent 195-hp turbocharged-1.6-liter 4-cylinder engine. The Kona’s four trim level offerings (SE, SEL, N Line, Limited) pack plenty of value even at the bottom of the range. All models come standard with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, forward collision-avoidance assist with pedestrian detection (FCA-Ped), and rear occupant alert (ROA).
For 2022, the Kona gets fresh looks, the new N Line trim, as well as upgrades to powertrains and available safety features. Stepping up to the top Limited trim and ticking every box nets just about all of these updates. Here’s what you get in a fully loaded Kona?
Driver Assists, Turbo Power, Wireless Charging
It starts with the Limited trim, which builds on the features included in the SE, plus the Blind-Spot Collision-Avoidance Assist (BCA), Rear Cross-Traffic Collision Avoidance Assist (RCCA), Bluelink, and Proximity Key with pushbutton start of the SEL.
But that’s not all. The Limited also gets the 195-hp turbo-4-cylinder from the N Line, as well as its 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster. Limited also adds a 10.25-inch touchscreen navigation display, power tilt-and-slide sunroof, heated front seats, automatic temperature control, wireless device charging, 18-inch alloy wheels, leather-trimmed seats, and more.
Fully Loaded Features
The 2022 Kona Limited also gets Hyundai’s technology package. This grouping includes highway driving assist, smart cruise control with stop-and-go, LED headlights with high-beam assist, LED taillights, and Harmon Kardon 8-speaker audio system.
Fully loaded includes everything in the Limited trim ($29,675) plus ticking literally every accessory box possible (including a few that overlap):
- AWD – $1,500
- Cargo net – $55
- Cargo Package (includes cargo tray, cargo net, and cargo blocks) – $190
- Carpeted floor mats – $155
- Cargo tray – $115
- First aid kit – $30
- Mudguards – $120
- Rear bumper applique – $75
- Roof rack cross rails – $250
- Wheel locks – $65
- Winter Weather Package (fitted floor liners and rear exterior mudguards) – $285
To AWD or Not to AWD?
Ringing up $2,840 in upgrades on the Limited spec, the fully loaded 2022 Hyundai Kona will cost you a total of $31,290 plus $1,225 destination. That comes to $32,515 – once you can order the Kona Limited with AWD.
The most expensive front-wheel-drive 2022 Hyundai Kona Limited you can configure will set you back $31,015 including delivery. It’s equipped exactly the same as the fully loaded spec, but without the optional $1,500 AWD system.
