The 2021 Honda Passport is a 2-row midsize SUV that seats five passengers. It sits between the compact CR-V and the 3-row Pilot. It incorporates the best of both those worlds with a roomy interior, and powerful V6 engine. Passport comes in either front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive configurations and offers plenty of driver’s aids as standard.
For 2021, the Honda Passport gets Apple CarPlay and Android Auto as standard across the lineup. It also gets Honda’s Display Audio infotainment system.
At the top of the range, a fully loaded Honda Passport can be priced out to above the $50,000 mark. We were able to price one out to nearly $52,000 ($51,875 to be exact). Here’s an overview of what you get:
- Passport Elite Trim comes with all-wheel drive as standard: $44,180 plus $1120 destination charge.
- Urban Package A, a $4,030 package that adds 20-inch machine-finished wheels, crossbars, door sill trim, underbody spoilers both front and rear, welcome side and tailgate lights, and black wheel locks. Honda also offers adventure packages, for those who want to do a bit of light off-roading with their Passport.
- A variety of accessories including everything from lighted running boards and a tent that attaches to the rear of the Passport (like it does in the larger Passport). The tent is $408.
- A whole bunch of trim changes like chrome mirror caps ($106), graphics package ($375), and a trailer hitch ($384).
Here are the highlights of a fully loaded 2021 Honda Passport:
Fully-Loaded Touring, Plus AWD
You get everything in the Touring package plus all-wheel drive, wireless phone charger, ventilated front seats, heated leather-wrapped steering wheel, rain-sensing wipers, underfloor cargo storage, and leather-trimmed seats.
Towing Power
The 2021 Honda Passport is equipped with a 3.5-liter V6 making 280 horsepower and 262 lb-ft of torque. That output goes to either the front wheels or all four corners through a 9-speed automatic transmission with paddle shifters. This makes the Passport powerful enough to tow up to 5,000 pounds.
All Kinds of Accessories Including a Tent
You can outfit the Passport with plenty of additional features, like special chrome side mirror covers and rear bumper center trim, but the most interesting available accessory is an optional tent that sleeps up to six people and attaches to the rear cargo area of the Passport. It gives you access to the interior of the vehicle as well as the tent without having to pass outside.
