What do You Get on a Fully Loaded 2022 Genesis GV70?

2022 Genesis GV70

The newest entry from Hyundai’s luxury brand, the 2022 Genesis GV70 luxury SUV is a little brother of the GV80 SUV. Built on the platform of the G70 sedan and with the same engine choices as the GV80 — a 2.5-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder or 3.5-liter twin-turbo V6 — the GV70 is quick and sporty. All GV70s are all-wheel drive, but during aggressive driving, the system can send all that power to the rear.

The GV70 has a muscular exterior look and also dazzles inside, with an elegance that’s both understated and modern. Standard equipment includes leatherette upholstery, heated front seats, navigation system, 12-way power driver seat, and 14.5-inch touchscreen display with Apple CarPlay/Android Auto integration. Standard driver-assist technology includes full-speed dynamic cruise control, rear cross-traffic collision avoidance, and blind-spot collision avoidance assist.

Seven Trim Levels

With two engine choices and standard all-wheel drive, the GV70 comes in seven trim levels: four with the turbocharged 4-cylinder and three with the twin-turbo V6. The base GV70 is called the 2.5T AWD Standard, and rings in at $42,045 ($41,000 + $1,045 destination).

Next is the 2.5T Select for $46,045, which ups the wheels to 19 inches and adds a panoramic sunroof, ventilated front seats, a power tilt and telescoping steering wheel, and a Lexicon 18-speaker audio system. The 2.5T AWD Advanced ($50,195) switches to leather seating and adds a surround-view monitor, a slick Blind-Spot View Monitor that displays a live feed in the digital instrument cluster, a heated steering wheel, and Remote Smart Parking Assist.

The top 2.5T Sport Prestige ($52,750) features 21-inches alloy wheels, leather seats with mesh inserts, a Sport appearance package, the Genesis Digital Key (which allows you to gain entry using an Android phone), and Highway Driving Assist II, a semi-autonomous driving assist feature.

Models with the 3.5-liter twin-turbo V6 start with the 3.5T AWD Standard ($53,645), which has 19-inch wheels, a panoramic sunroof, leather seats with mesh, Highway Driving Assist II, and an electronic adaptive suspension. Next is the 3.5T AWD Advanced ($58,645), which has Nappa leather, a surround-view camera, an 18-speaker Lexicon premium sound system, suede headliner, and Remote Smart Parking Assist.

Top of the GV70s is the 3.5T AWD Sport Prestige, starting at $63,545. It rides on 21-inch wheels, adds an electronic limited-slip differential, rain-sensing wipers, tri-zone climate control, Nappa leather seats with suede, a suede headliner, carbon-fiber trim, and a very cool 12.3-inch 3D digital gauge cluster with a head-up display. The top trim offers few optional extras, most notably some fancy paint colors. A fully loaded GV70 3.5T runs $66,075.

3.5-liter Twin-Turbo V6

This is the same engine that powers the top trim of the GV80, which is even larger. With the GV70 built on the G70 sport sedan platform, this V6, with 375 horsepower and 391 pound-feet of torque, delivers robust performance.

All-Wheel Drive

Admittedly, every GV70 comes with all-wheel drive, but on the top trim, there’s also an electronic limited-slip differential. This further improves the power delivery to the rear wheels.

Widescreen Infotainment with Lexicon Premium Audio

2022 Genesis GV70

As every GV70 already includes a large 14.5-inch widescreen infotainment system with navigation, why not enhance it with the premium Lexicon audio? This system delivers surround sound through 18 speakers.

Nappa Leather Seats with Suede Inserts

Lower trims of the GV70 get leatherette, and then leather with mesh. The top model sports ultra-soft Nappa leather and suede inserts. The seats look and feel great.

12.3-inch 3D Digital Gauge Cluster

This system sends different images to the left and right eyes for a 3D appearance. We’re not sure it has any extra benefits, but it definitely increases the GV70’s cool factor.

Barossa Burgundy Matte Paint

Some of the optional paint colors only cost $500, but this is a truly special hue and looks incredible on the GV70. Stand out with a stylish shade and blast some “Purple Rain” on that Lexicon system.

Front and Rear Mudguards/Reversible Cargo Tray

It’s always good to keep your GV70 looking good inside and out. The cargo tray can be removed and cleaned if you’re carrying wet gear back from the beach or a ski trip.
