What Do You Get on a Fully Loaded 2022 Subaru Ascent?

The 2022 Subaru Ascent is a family-and-pet-friendly SUV that comes with enough room for up to eight passengers, all while keeping the same charm and capability of the brand. The Ascent has a roomy interior and standard all-wheel drive, as well as a strong list of safety technology including adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assist, lane centering, and much more.

For 2022, the new Ascent is basically the same as the 2021 model. Even pricing is the same. A new Onyx Edition at the top of the lineup brings new aesthetics in and out, and features new black exterior trim, special wheels, and water-repellent seats.

At the top of the range, a fully loaded Subaru Ascent can be priced out above $50,000. We were able to spec one to $51,138 thanks, in large part, to the 81 additional accessories available. Here’s an overview of what you get at the very top trim:

  • Ascent Onyx Trim comes with all-wheel drive as standard plus everything in the Premium Trim. It includes a choice of second-row bench seats or captain’s chairs that reduce seating to seven.
  • The optional Panoramic moonroof costs $2,200. It comes with a larger 8.0-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay/Android Auto. You also get a cargo area cover.
  • A wide variety of pet-friendly (and safe) accessories. These items make transporting your pets a whole lot more comfortable for both you and your animals. They include things like a pet-friendly ramp ($299.95), a collapsible kennel for the cargo area of the Ascent ($159.95), and a pet harness ($79.99).
  • Smoking accessories including things like an ashtray holder ($12.95), ashtray ($19.95), and cigarette lighter ($39.98) are optional.

Everything in the Premium Trim, Plus

2021 Subaru Ascent

You get everything in the Premium Trim, which includes a choice of a second-row bench seat or captain’s chairs. Subaru’s Starlink Safety and Security is part of the package and includes automatic collision, emergency assistance, diagnostic alerts, remote engine start with climate control, and concierge services. You also get the all-weather package with heated front seats, 4G LTE Wi-Fi capability, and rear climate control. The Onyx trim adds water repellent upholstery, 20-inch black-finish wheels, black trim and exterior, power rear tailgate, keyless access with push-button start, and reverse automatic braking.

All Kinds of Pet Accessories and Safety Gear

Subaru offers a ton of optional pet accessories to keep your furry family members safe and comfortable on the road. They offer more than 15 different pet accessories that include collapsible kennels for the cargo area (in a number of different sizes), to different harnesses, pet bowls, and bedding. You can also get seat and back covers and ramps. Subaru also offers a pair of emergency roadside and severe weather kits.

A Variety of Ways to Carry Your Adventure Gear

Whether you’re a mountain biker, kayaker, a surfer, or you just need to use more of the interior space for people, pets, and cargo, Subaru offers a wide variety of cargo, trailer hitch, and rooftop options to make the most of your adventure. They even offer a Thule portable step ($89.95) that attaches to your wheel to help you get up high enough to manage the cargo on the roof.
