What Do You Get on a Fully Loaded 2022 Hyundai Tucson?

2022 Hyundai Tucson

The Hyundai Tucson has been completely redesigned for 2022, and the compact SUV features its broadest lineup yet. It also has an impressive array of available luxury and tech features, multiple trim levels, and a choice of powertrains.

Most Tucson models are powered by a 187-hp, 2.5-liter 4-cylinder engine paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission. Buyers choose front- or all-wheel drive. The trim level progression is SE, SEL, N Line, then Limited.

The SE ($24,950 plus destination) is well equipped for a base trim. It comes with forward-collision warning with automatic emergency braking, lane-keeping and following assist, automatic high beams, and a driver attention monitor. Also standard is an 8-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto.

The SEL ($26,500) adds adaptive cruise control, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, safe exit warning, power driver’s seat, heated front seats, satellite radio, and passive entry with pushbutton start.

For $2,500, the SEL Convenience Package brings a hands-free power liftgate, sunroof, digital instrument cluster, Hyundai Digital Key, wireless charging, ambient lighting, and more. The Premium Package ($1,700) builds on that with leather seating, ventilated front seats, Bose premium audio, 5-LED daytime running lights, and dark-chrome grille treatment.

The N Line ($30,600) includes all of the foregoing items (except the sunroof) and brings 19-inch wheels plus special design elements inside and out.

Fully Loaded

The fully loaded Tucson is the Limited for $34,700. It gets the model’s full complement of high-tech goodies, including 10.25-inch touchscreen with navigation, voice recognition, surround-view camera, and Hyundai’s blind-spot view monitor. You also get Remote Smart Park Assist, and the Highway Driving Assist semi-automated driving system. Among its additional exclusive features include a panoramic sunroof, front and rear parking sensors, heated rear seats, heated steering wheel, memory for the power driver’s seat, and power passenger seat.

Here’s a closer look at these models and features:

Hybrid and Plug-in Hybrid Models

Besides the standard powertrain, the Tucson is available as a Hybrid or a Plug-In Hybrid. Both use a 1.6-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder engine paired with two electric motors. All-wheel drive is standard. In the Tucson Hybrid, the powertrain makes 226 hp, while in the Tucson Plug-In Hybrid, it’s good for 261 horsepower. The Tucson Hybrid carries EPA-combined estimates of 37–38 mpg. The Plug-In Hybrid offers an EPA combined fuel economy estimate of 30 mpg along with 32 miles of all-electric range.

The Tucson Hybrid trim levels are Blue ($29,050 and equivalent to the SE), SEL Convenience ($31,650), with Limited again at the top ($37,350). The Tucson Plug-In Hybrid will come in SEL and Limited trims (pricing not yet available).

Blind Spot View Monitor

2022 Hyundai Tucson

This Limited-trim exclusive makes use of the digital instrument cluster to make it easier to see vehicles in your blind spot. When a turn signal activates, a camera view looking rearward on that side replaces one of the gauges in the instrument screen. This provides a live camera view of the blind spot on that side.

Remote Smart Park Assist

Another feature found only on the Limited, Remote Smart Park Assist allows the driver to stand outside the vehicle and park or retrieve the Tucson. You can drive it forward or backward, using the remote function on the smart key. It’s great for tight parking or garage situations.

Highway Driving Assist

Highway Driving Assist combines elements of adaptive cruise control and lane centering. Although it’s not an entirely hands-free system, it can autonomously maintain lane positioning on well-marked highways. It also can adjust the speed automatically based on the posted speed limit (although that feature can be disabled).
