Volvo has recalled just 11 units of its new flagship electric SUV, the EX90, because bolts in the second-row seats may be loose.
The company tells the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) that “incorrect torqued seat attaching bolts can potentially affect the 2nd row free-standing seat integrity in a vehicle crash, thereby increasing the risk of vehicle occupant injury.”
Owners might hear a rattle coming from the second row, Volvo says. But we wouldn’t assume there’s no problem if we didn’t hear it.
The company hasn’t reported any accidents or injuries related to the issue, which a technician discovered at the factory.
Dealers will inspect the second-row seats and tighten any loose bolts to the specified torque rating to correct the problem.
