Toyota Motor Corporation has announced that it plans to unveil a new advanced active safety research vehicle in conjunction with 2013 Consumer Electronics Show that will be taking place next month in Las Vegas. The vehicle, which will be presented on January 7 by Lexus Group Vice President and General Manager Mark Templin, was specifically designed "to explore the use of autonomous technologies and high-level driver assistance systems related to TMC’s Integrated Safety Management Concept."
Templin will also use the CES appearance to provide an update on TMC’s Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) R& D efforts, which includes both vehicle-to-vehicle and vehicle-to-infrastructure communications elements. Also on hand will be the new 2013 Lexus LS Sedan fitted with that the automaker is calling the world’s most advanced pre-collision safety system.
