The classic Toyota minivan is turning 25, and you’re getting a present. Sort of. You’re getting the opportunity to buy a special edition marking the moment, anyway.
The Toyota Sienna first appeared for the 1998 model year. 2023 is its silver anniversary. To celebrate its 25th, Toyota is producing 2,525 25th Anniversary Edition Siennas.
The Sienna is a solid choice in the minivan segment – it won our Best Buy Award for its combination of great fuel economy, great resale value, and a long list of standard features. But the key to deciding whether a special edition is a great buy is often the price tag. Toyota hasn’t released it yet.
It will be available in front- or all-wheel-drive. The current, 2022 Sienna starts at $35,285. The Sienna is distinctive from all other minivans on the market in that it comes standard with a fuel-efficient hybrid powertrain that earns 36 mpg combined.
Silver Theme Throughout
The silver anniversary edition comes in silver, of course. Or white. Your choice. Black badges and window trim dress up the exterior, as do darker 20-inch wheels.
Inside, the silver theme continues with silver contrast-color stitching on black leather upholstery. The sill plates illuminate with 25th anniversary badging. Badging also adorns the floor mats.
It carries all the equipment from the “sporty” (we’re grading on a curve here) XSE edition. That includes sleeker front and rear bumpers.
Buyers also get a few features from the more upscale Limited model. These include heated and cooled front seats with memory settings for the driver. The rear seats have deployable leg rests. JBL speakers, wireless phone charging, and a 1,500-watt power outlet complete the special features.
The 25th-anniversary edition Sienna should reach dealers this fall.
