Toyota has recalled 55,405 hybrid vehicles because they could lose all drive power.
Recalled models include some, but not all, examples of the:
- 2025-2026 Toyota Camry
- 2026 Toyota Corolla Cross Hybrid
The company tells federal safety regulators that the vehicles may have a loose bolt inside an inverter that sends power from the battery to the electric motor. That can stop power delivery, activating a limp mode, or even leaving the car motionless.
Toyota says a remedy for the problem is still under development. When it comes, it will be free.
By law, dealers never charge for recall repairs.
Manufacturers recall many cars, often more than once, during their lifespan. Automakers try to contact every owner but don’t always reach them all. Discover if your vehicle has any outstanding recalls with the easy-to-use vehicle identification number (VIN) tool at our recall center.
