Toyota FT-4X Concept to Debut in New York

The Toyota FT-4x Concept is set for its global reveal at the New York Auto Show. While no details were provided with the single teaser image and its terse “Four Wheeling. Scene Stealing.” release, the FT-4x’s meaty 225/55 off-road rubber on an 18-inch alloy wheel signals this one-off should be ready to get down and dirty.

It remains to be seen whether the FT-4x Concept will preview some type of direct replacement for the retro-flavored but rather slow-selling FJ Cruiser or reflect a more contemporary take on the automaker’s SUV/CUV family. Whatever the case, its “FT” prefix indicates the vehicle will be a precursor to a production-spec Future Toyota and one that’s likely have a healthy dose of personality.
