- Prices for the electric Kia Niro stay almost unchanged for 2026.
- The Niro EV is available in two trims with no major changes.
Kia recently released pricing for the subcompact 2026 Niro electric vehicle (EV), but the numbers surprisingly didn’t increase dramatically from those of the previous model. While it’s not significantly cheaper than the competition, the modest price bump is a refreshing change from recent trends.
The Niro EV is available in two trims for 2026 with no major changes from 2025. Including the mandatory $1,495 destination fee, the base Wind configuration starts at $41,195, and the uplevel Wave trim at $46,195. Both trims are just $100 more than the previous model year, bucking the trend of increasingly expensive new vehicle prices.
Power comes from a single electric motor paired with a 64.8-kWh battery. Combined output reaches 201 hp and 188 lb-ft of torque, and the setup offers 253 miles of range on a charge. Charging to 80% takes 43 minutes on a 350-kW DC fast charger and just over 6 hours on an 11-kW Level 2 charger.
Styling updates in recent years have brought the Niro EV closer to Kia’s larger SUVs, with EV9-esque wheels and new Telluride-inspired exterior lighting. Standard features include 17-inch wheels, halogen projection headlights, and LED daytime running lights.
Inside, the Niro EV includes dual 10.25-inch displays for the gauge cluster and infotainment system. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard. Kia’s Digital Key 2.0 system, which lets owners lock and unlock, start the vehicle, and share access with family or friends, comes on the higher trim.
As expected, Kia equips a generous number of standard advanced driver-assistance systems, including blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alerts, lane-keep assist, lane-departure alerts, driver-attention warnings, navigation-based adaptive cruise control, and more. The Wave trim adds parking sensors, remote start, and Kia’s Highway Driving Assist II system with automatic lane changes and machine learning.
