Tesla Recalls Cybertrucks with Off-Road Light Bar

The 2025 Tesla Cybertruck seen from a rear quarter angle

Tesla recalled 6,197 Cybertrucks from model year 2024 equipped with the optional off-road light bar because the bar can fall off and become a road hazard.

The company tells the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) that factory workers may have used the wrong surface primer when attaching the bar to the windshield.

The company knows of no injuries or accidents, but there are at least 619 warranty claims due to detached light bars.

Tesla will inspect the light bars and replace or reattach them as necessary to fix the problem. They’ll use a mechanical attachment instead of adhesive this time.

By law, dealers never charge for recall repairs.

Manufacturers recall many cars, often more than once, during their lifespan. Automakers try to contact every owner but don’t always reach them all. Discover if your vehicle has any outstanding recalls with the easy-to-use vehicle identification number (VIN) tool at our recall center.
