Tesla Cuts Cybertruck Prices, Releases Cheaper Version

A 2025 Tesla Cybertruck from a front quarter angle view.

Late Thursday night, Tesla announced the release of a brand new Cybertruck trim that is their most affordable one yet, starting at $62,235 (including a $1,995 destination fee and $250 order fee). However, a comment from Tesla CEO Elon Musk raises questions about how long this specific price may last. More on that below.

At the same time, Tesla also cut the price of its longstanding highest-priced Cybertruck trim, bringing the Cyberbeast to less than $100,000 before adding any additional fees.

Cheapest Cybertruck Trim Yet… But There’s a Catch

Tesla briefly sold a rear-wheel-drive (RWD) version of the Cybertruck for $69,990 (MSRP), its cheapest trim at the time, but it was discontinued last year. Now, an even less expensive base model is available: the Dual Motor all-wheel drive (AWD) trim. It’s priced $20,000 below the next available model, but offers similar capabilities to other Cybertruck options. It has an estimated range of 325 miles and the ability to charge up to 132 miles at a Supercharger in 15 minutes. While it might lack some of the bells and whistles of the Premium and Cyberbeast trims, it could be a suitable entry-level option into the Cybertruck world.

However, we’re not entirely sure how long the deal will last. Earlier this morning, Elon Musk posted on X that this new Cybertruck option is “Only for the next 10 days.” Does this mean the price will increase? Decrease? Will the option disappear forever? There’s no sure way to know, and Musk hasn’t given any more details yet.

Falling Cybertruck Prices

Adding to the trend of lower prices across the Cybertruck lineup, the most expensive trim, the Cyberbeast, drops from $114,990 to $99,990 ($117,235 and $102,235 with the destination and order fees). So why is the price reducing, and why now?

We think that Tesla’s Cybertrucks might not be performing as well in the long run as the company expected. There’s no denying that the vehicle had an impact on the market. In 2024, the Cybertruck ranked as the third best-selling EV in America and was the best-selling vehicle over $100K for four months in the year.

However, in early 2025, Cybertruck sales rapidly declined, and the current price cuts might simply be an effort to offset that drop.
