Update: A BMW spokesperson has confirmed this news to KBB, saying ” BMW Dealers in the US are no longer accepting orders for the BMW M8 Coupe. However, customers that are looking to still purchase a BMWM8 Convertible or Gran Coupe can still do so. “
BMW will cease production of its M8 Coupe early in 2025, according to a new report.

BMWBlog cites “A recent bulletin sent to BMW dealers” to report that the grand touring coupe will drop from the lineup quickly. Units current on order, the site says, “will still be processed within one to two weeks, after which the model will be retired from BMW’s lineup.”

The M8 Convertible and Gran Coupe (a 4-door car with coupe-like styling) will remain in production, the report says. We’ve reached out to BMW for a statement regarding the report and are awaiting a response.

Today’s M8 is one of the last large, luxurious, V8-powered grand touring coupes. Powered by a 4.4-liter twin-turbo V8, it gets up to 617 horsepower in its top trim and represents BMW in endurance racing events like the 24 Hours of Le Mans. However, it remains a slow seller for the brand, and tough future European emissions regulations have German automakers replacing many high-powered, low-volume cars with electric or hybrid equivalents.
