Land Rover has issued a recall for about 19,000 2020 Evoque SUVs to fix a faulty airbag warning light.
In 2020 Evoques built on certain dates, the SRS (supplemental restraint system) light on the dashboard can illuminate at random times. According to documents filed with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, it may light up even when the SRS airbag system is working properly or “may not properly warn the driver of an actual airbag system fault.”
Dealers will update software to fix the defect. That makes for a quick repair appointment. But the cars cannot download the update remotely, so owners must bring the vehicles in for the service.
Recall repairs are always free. Manufacturers attempt to contact every owner, but they don’t always reach them all with the news. Find out if your car has ever been recalled at our recall center.
