Ram has issued a recall order for nearly 69,000 trucks because their backup cameras may fail. The recall applies to 2021-2023 Ram 1500 and 2023 Ram 2500 trucks equipped with a trailer reverse steering control module (TRSCM).
In documents filed with federal safety regulators, Ram says the TRSCM may prevent the backup camera from displaying an image “under certain conditions,” but doesn’t explain what those conditions are.
Dealers will fix the problem with a software update. The repair, as always with recalls, is free.
