Recall Alert: Porsche 911 Headlights Too Bright

The 2025 Porsche 911 Carrera seen from a front quarter angle

Porsche has recalled 878 units of its 911 sports cars from model year 2025 because the headlights can be too bright under certain conditions. Overly bright headlights can temporarily blind oncoming drivers.

Porsche tells the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration that “when the rear fog light button is activated and the vehicle speed is below 60 kph [37 mph], the driver’s side low beam is lowered” about half a degree. That “has the potential to create glare for oncoming vehicles and potentially increase a risk of an accident.”

Dealers will fix the problem with a software update. Software patches are typically quick service appointments. But these cars can’t receive the update over the air, so owners will need to bring them into the dealership for the download.

By law, dealers never charge for recall-related repairs.

Automakers recall many cars, often more than once, during their lifespan. Automakers try to contact every owner but don’t always reach them all. Find out whether your vehicle has any outstanding recalls with the easy VIN tool at our recall center.
