Recall Alert: Nissan Sentra Due to Missing Seal

The 2023 Nissan Sentra seen in profileNissan has issued a recall for just 230 Sentra sedans from model year 2022 because they may be missing a seal on the driver’s side near the lower edge of the windshield.

That, Nissan says, can allow water to leak onto the driver’s side floor, which may corrode electrical components.

Nissan lists many things that may go wrong from waterlogged electronics, including faulty windshield wiper motors, malfunctioning taillights, airbags that don’t deploy in an accident, and, “in rare cases, a fire.”

Thankfully, the problem may be present only on Sentra cars built between Sept. 21 and 27 of last year.

Dealers will fix the problem by resealing the cowl (the area between the windshield and the hood). Recall repairs are always free.

Automakers recall many cars to fix safety defects, sometimes more than once. While automakers try to reach every owner to ask them to bring the vehicle in for repair, they rarely reach them all. Millions of vehicles on American roads need free recall repairs. Check the easy VIN tool at our recall center to find out if your car is one of them.
