Recall Alert: Mercedes EQE, EQS, EQS SUV, and S-Class PHEV

2023 Mercedes-EQ EQS SUV in silver.Mercedes has issued a recall for about 3,800 vehicles because the vehicles might not alert drivers of a battery malfunction.

Affected vehicles include the following:

Mercedes tells federal safety officials that “the monitoring function of the high-voltage battery might be impaired over time.” The company isn’t aware of any accidents, injuries, or warranty claims related to the problem.

But it’s simple to fix. Dealers will update the battery management software to correct the issue. Owners will have to bring the cars to a dealership for the update, but installing it should be a quick affair.
