Recall Alert: Mercedes-Benz GLB

Mercedes-Benz has recalled 415 GLB SUVs from model year 2025 because their right-side tires might have damage invisible to the driver.

The company tells federal safety regulators that a conveyor system in the factory may have damaged the inside side walls of some GLB tires. Because the damage is located on the inside of the tire, drivers may not be aware of it.

In passive voice that would make your high school English teacher and our copy editors rage, Mercedes explains, “Over the tire’s lifecycle, the damage might lead to a leak. A sudden loss of air pressure cannot be completely ruled out and could impair driving stability, which could increase the risk of a crash.”

Mercedes is not aware of any accidents or injuries related to the problem.
