Maserati has issued a recall for 1,710 vehicles because their backup cameras may not display images.

The recall includes some, but not all, examples of the:

Maserati tells the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) that software in the park-assist system can prevent the backup screen from displaying an image. The company knows of 10 warranty claims but no accidents related to the problem.

Dealers will fix it with a software update. These vehicles don’t receive updates over the air, so owners will need to bring them in to have the patch installed. However, software updates are typically quick service appointments.

As with all recalls, the repair is free.
