Recall Alert: Land Rover Discovery Sport

Land Rover is recalling a small number of vehicles for a severe problem. The issue affects 47 examples of its 2024 Land Rover Discovery Sport SUV. However, those cars may have structural issues.

Parent company JLR tells federal safety officials, “The lower A-pillar bolt on the right side may be improperly fastened, which can result in reduced structural strength of the body structure.” The A-pillar is the vertical support at the corners of the windshield and is an essential part of the car’s integrity in an accident.

“In the event of a crash, the performance of the body structure may be impaired, increasing the risk of injury to occupants of the vehicle,” the company says.

JLR is not aware of any accidents or injuries related to the issue. Technicians at the factory discovered it during an inspection.

Dealers will inspect the area and re-secure the pillar if necessary. Dealers never charge for recall repairs.
