Recall Alert: Lamborghini Urus

The 2024 Lamborghini Urus seen from a rear quarter angle

We have some bad news about your Lamborghini. You’ll have to keep it to 93 mph or less until the dealership can arrange a repair. Lamborghini has recalled 2,133 Urus SUVs from model years 2023 and 2024.

In a filing with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), the company says that at speeds of 94 mph and above, the Urus hoods can fly open, blocking the driver’s vision.

Lamborghini says some Urus hood latches may not be properly riveted. Over time, wind resistance and higher speeds can stress the latches and cause them to fail. The company believes 2% of the recall population may have the problem, but it needs to inspect all the rivets to find them.

Dealers will do that, and if they find a problem, repair the hood or install a striker support plate to reinforce the latch.

Automakers recall many cars to fix safety defects, sometimes more than once. They try to contact every owner to ask them to bring the vehicle in for repair, but they rarely reach all of them. Millions of vehicles on American roads need free recall repairs. Check the easy VIN tool at our recall center to find out if your car is one of them.
