Recall Alert: Kia Telluride

2024 Kia Telluride

Kia has issued a recall for about 2,900 Telluride SUVs from model year 2024 because they can lose power while driving.

The company tells the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration that “engine valve springs may break while driving due to fatigue cracking as a result of damage to the springs during manufacture by the supplier.” A broken valve spring can cause a loss of engine power and, “in rare cases, a hole in the engine block,” Kia says.

A hole in the engine block can lead to an engine fire, the report notes. Kia dealers will replace the engine sub-assembly to correct the problem.
