Recall Alert: Honda, Acura Recall Affects 16 Models

2021 Honda CR-V Hybrid

Honda has issued a recall order covering more than 750,000 cars worldwide, including Honda- and Acura-branded sedans, wagons, and minivans. The cars may have defective fuel pumps, which could cause their engines to stall or fail to start.

The company is not aware of any accidents or injuries related to the defect.

The recall affects vehicles from the 2019 and 2020 model years (and 2018 in the case of the CR-V). The models are: Acura ILX, MDX, MDX Sport Hybrid, RDX and TLX, and Honda Accord, Accord Hybrid, Civic, Civic Type R, CR-V, Fit, HR-V, Odyssey, Passport, Pilot, and Ridgeline. The majority of affected vehicles — 628,000 — are in the United States.

Honda dealers will replace the fuel pump assembly at no cost to owners. Recall repairs are always free, and though automakers try to reach every owner to let them know of a recall, they don’t always succeed. Check our recall center to see if your car has any outstanding repair orders.
