Genesis is recalling about 16,000 GV70 SUVs from model year 2024 because a problem can leave them able to move while parked.
Genesis tells the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, “Water may leak into the transmission control harness, which can cause a short circuit and unexpectedly shift the transmission from Park to Neutral.”
The recall affects only cars built on certain dates. Workers at a supplier’s factory may have improperly connected a wiring harness.
Because the vehicles can roll while in Park, Genesis recommends that owners always apply the parking brake when parking. Dealers will inspect the wiring harness and replace it if necessary to fix the problem.
Manufacturers attempt to contact every owner but don’t always reach them all with the news. Find out if your car has ever been recalled at our recall center.
