Genesis, the luxury division of Hyundai, has recalled 1,488 vehicles because their rearview cameras can shut off when the cars are in reverse.
Recalled models include some, but not all, examples of the:
- 2024-2025 Genesis GV60
- 2025 Genesis GV80
Genesis tells the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration that the rearview cameras in the cars may shut off if the vehicles are driven over 6 mph in reverse soon after startup, before the video unit has fully initialized.
Dealers will fix the problem with a software update. The update, like all recall-related repairs, is free. But these cars can’t receive it over the air, so owners will need to bring them to the dealership to receive it.
Manufacturers recall many cars at least once. They attempt to contact every owner but don’t always reach them all with the news. Find out if your vehicle needs any recall-related repairs at our recall center.
