Recall Alert: Ford Bronco

2022Ford has issued a recall for about 1,200 Bronco SUVs from the 2021 and 2022 model years because their side airbags might not deploy in an accident. The problem isn’t in the airbags themselves. It’s in the sensors that detect a crash.

In a relatively small number of Broncos, Ford says, the factory may not have properly installed the side impact detectors. “An unsecured side impact sensor may not properly detect” a collision, meaning the airbags wouldn’t deploy, Ford says.

Dealers will inspect the sensors and install them properly if needed. Recall repairs are always free.
