Recall Alert: BMW X5, X6, X7, XM

The 2023 BMW XM from a front quarter angleBMW has issued a recall for about 2,000 SUVs because their knee airbags may not deploy correctly in an accident.

The recall affects some, but not all, examples of the:

The automaker tells federal safety regulators that a manufacturing error might prevent knee airbags from deploying properly in an accident. The company is not aware of any accidents or injuries related to the problem. An airbag supplier discovered the problem in its own testing.

Dealers will replace the airbags to fix the issue. By law, recall repairs are always free.
