Recall Alert: 2025 Honda Pilot

Honda has recalled 1,494 Pilot SUVs from model year 2025 because their third-row passenger-side seat belt may be unusable.

The recall doesn’t apply to all 2025 Pilots, but if you own one, it won’t be hard to tell whether your car has this problem. Honda tells federal safety officials that, due to a routing mistake at the factory, some seat belts may have their tongues trapped behind a trim panel.

Under normal procedures, workers fasten seat belts at the factory before machines attach interior trim panels. That prevents them from sliding behind the trim work. However, “certain vehicles were relocated to a designated repair area away from the normal production line,” Honda says. Factory workers may have missed the fastening step on those, leaving the buckles unreachable.

The solution is simple: dealers will inspect the seat belts and, if necessary, remove and reattach the trim panel so they can free the buckle.

By law, recall repairs are always free. However, millions of people miss recall notices every year and unknowingly drive recalled vehicles. Find out if your car needs any free safety repairs at our easy recall center.
