Recall Alert: 2020 Cadillac XT5, XT6, GMC Acadia

03 2020 Cadillac XT5 SportGeneral Motors has issued a recall alert for about 96,000 Cadillac and GMC SUVs because their backup cameras may fail.

The recall applies to 2020 and 2021 Cadillac XT5, Cadillac XT6, and GMC Acadia SUVs equipped with the optional Surround Vision system that displays an overhead image of the vehicle and the area around it. Surround Vision works at low speeds and is mostly useful when parking. It’s also not a bad feature to have when lining up a tow hitch.

On some SUVS, GM says, coaxial cable connectors powering the system “may have been crimped improperly.” This can leave the image displaying intermittently or failing altogether.

Dealers will fix the problem by replacing the cabling free of charge.

Many cars face recalls at some point in their lives. Automakers try to contact every owner to let them know they need to bring their vehicle in for repairs. But they aren’t always successful in finding everyone. You can see whether your car has any unaddressed recall issues using our recall center.
