Ram Recalls Heavy Duty Trucks Over Wrong Brake Warning

The 2026 Ram 2500 heavy duty truck seen from a front quarter angle

Ram has recalled 2,885 Ram 2500 and 3500 trucks and 3500, 4500, and 5500 Cab Chassis vehicles from model year 2026 because they might use the wrong symbol to warn drivers of a brake problem.

An international organization, ISO, designs symbols for automakers to use in many countries. American law requires a different set of symbols, often English words. Ram says some of its newest trucks use the ISO symbol for brakes instead of the required word “BRAKE.”

Ram is owned by Stellantis, a company with operations in many countries. It inadvertently used international standards instead of U.S. standards in these trucks.

Dealers will replace a 3.5-inch screen in the instrument panel with the correct part for the U.S. market to fix the issue.
