Ram Recalls Heavy Duty Trucks Over Shifter Errors

2025 Ram 2500 Heavy Duty Longhorn

Ram has recalled 778 Ram 2500 and 3500 trucks from the 2025 model year because their gear selection displays may not be accurate. All of the recalled trucks have a column-mounted shifter and a 3.5” gauge cluster display.

Ram tells federal safety regulators that the PRND selector in the display may have a delayed response. Drivers can, for instance, shift from Drive to Park and watch the display fail to respond. That could leave drivers uncertain which mode the truck is in, which could contribute to inadvertent movement.

Dealers will fix the problem with a software update. Software updates are typically quick service appointments.

Recall repairs are always free.
