In honor of the 145th running of the Kentucky Derby on May 4, 2019, Ram Truck unveiled a limited edition of its new 2019 Ram Heavy Duty trucks. The 2019 Ram Heavy Duty Kentucky Derby Edition is based on the brand’s top-of-the-line Limited model.
Most people that own horses have at least one horse trailer, so it would make sense that the Ram Heavy Duty Kentucky Derby Edition trucks feature plenty of features that cater to people who tow: a 360-degree surround-view camera with trailer-reverse guidance, active hitch grid lines, fifth-wheel/gooseneck prep, air suspension with bed lowering, forward collision warning with trailer braking, a bed step, and a DOT safety kit. Ram Heavy Duty trucks are built for towing, as the available 6.7-liter Cummins turbodiesel produces up to 1,000 lb-ft of torque and up to 35,100 pounds of towing capacity, the highest in the segment.
Additional premium features include an audio system run through a 12-inch touchscreen interface with Sirius XM radio and navigation, as well as power-retracting running boards and blind spot monitoring. These trucks also have a model-exclusive billet grille and body-color bumpers, and there are seven exterior colors offered.
Plush cabin
Inside, there are full-leather front and rear seats – which recline on Mega Cab models – and genuine wood and metal accents throughout. The 2019 Ram Heavy Duty 2500 and 3500 Limited Kentucky Derby Edition trucks come with Black and Saddle Brown leather seats, a hybrid of Limited and Longhorn trims, with medium Greystone stitching and piping.

Buyers can get the 2019 Ram Heavy Duty Kentucky Derby Edition on 2500 or 3500 Limited trucks, with either the Cummins 6.7-liter turbodiesel I-6 or the 6.4-liter gas V-8, with 2- or 4-wheel drive, in Mega Cab or Crew Cab, with single- dual-rear wheel layouts with either the 6-foot-4-inch or 8-foot bed. If you opt for the dual-rear wheel models, you also receive rear park assist with fender coverage.

Pricing
Prices start at $66,890 plus $1,695 destination for the Ram 2500, and $68,240 plus $1,695 destination for Ram 3500. The Ram Heavy Duty Kentucky Derby Edition goes on sale in late summer of 2019, and production will be limited to 1,000 units.
