Porsche Releases New Entertainment Systems for Early 2000s Models

The company has released new infotainment systems that let owners upgrade models from the mid-2000s to current connectivity standards. The upgrades even add Apple CarPlay and Android Auto to some cars that pre-date those features.

Sure, you could buy an updated infotainment system at an electronics store. But Porsche says its systems’ “look and feel are based on the components already installed in the car, such as the climate control panel or the push buttons.” So they’ll look like they were original equipment.

The units include a 7-inch touchscreen capable of displaying 3D navigation. The devices cost $1,475.99, Porsche says, before installation costs. “Fitting at a Porsche Classic Partner or authorized Porsche Dealership is recommended.”
