Porsche Recalls Macan Electric Due to Backup Camera

2025 Porsche Macan 4 EV

Porsche has recalled 8,571 Macan Electric SUVs from model years 2024 and 2025 because their backup cameras may show a blurry image, or no image at all.

The cameras may have two separate problems, Porsche says. A software error may keep the cameras from “waking up from standby mode.” A subset of the same cameras may also have insufficient seals, letting moisture into the electronics.

Dealers will install new software on all the cameras to solve the first problem. They will also inspect for seal issues, and replace cameras if necessary, to solve the second.

By law, dealers never charge for recall repairs.

Manufacturers attempt to contact every owner, but they don’t always reach them all with the news. Find out if your car needs any critical safety repairs at our recall center.
