Polestar recalled 969 Polestar 3 SUVs from model year 2025 because a water leak can damage wiring and cause electrical problems.
The company tells federal safety officials that a connection between two wiring harnesses may not be properly sealed. If water gets in and causes corrosion in the connection, it can trigger a host of problems, including a parking brake that won’t release, a lack of power steering, and even failure to start.
Polestar says it knows of no injuries or accidents related to the problem. Every known incident so far has happened on vehicle startup.
Polestar will replace the connection and one of the two harnesses to fix the problem.
