Polestar has recalled 19 units of its new Polestar 3 SUV because their panoramic roofs can detach.
Cars in a factory are sometimes sent through the painting process a second time to correct mistakes in paint application. Polestar says these 19 were repainted, and workers may not have fully removed the masking tape used in the process. That could prevent the adhesive that attaches the glass from fully bonding.
Drivers might notice excessive wind noise or a water leak if their panoramic roof isn’t properly bonded.
Polestar will reattach the glass panel to fix the problem.
As with all recall repairs, the fix is free. Manufacturers attempt to contact every owner but don’t always reach them all with the news. Find out if your car has any outstanding recalls at our recall center.
