North American Car of the Year Finalists Announced

The 2023 Nissan Z in profileThree cars, three trucks, and three sport utility vehicles have made the finals of the 2023 North American Car, Truck, and SUV of the Year awards.

“Our nine finalists for 2023 represent a diverse cross-section of this year’s best new vehicles, ranging from sports cars to powerful pickups to three electric utility vehicles – which is the first time in our history that all three finalists in a specific category are battery-electric,” said NACTOY President Gary Witzenburg.

The jury will announce the winners in January. They’ll be picked by a jury of 50 automotive journalists from the U.S. and Canada, including our own Allyson Harwood.

The finalists include products from established automakers like Ford and Honda, as well as startups like Lordstown Motors. The least-expensive of the group is still a luxury car – the 2023 Acura Integra starts at $30,800.
