Nissan and Apple have inked a deal that will put the computer firm’s new streaming audio app, iTunes Radio, in several 2014 Nissan models including the new Rogue and Versa Note as well as the LEAF. In addition to being the first vehicle manufacturer to sign on, the agreement also makes Nissan the exclusive automotive partner for iTunes Radio through the remainder of 2013. Already available on the iPhone and iPad, iTunes Radio is an alternative to apps like Pandora and Spotify. As part of this groundbreaking pact, Nissan also will be allowed to stream its own content via the app’s associated iAd capability.

"We see iTunes Radio as an integral part of our new vehicle launches and ‘big moments,’ riding the wave of interest and usage of this exciting new service to maximize exposure of Nissan’s new models," noted Jon Brancheau, vice president, Marketing, Nissan North America, Inc. "We’re also adding iAd on iTunes Radio as a critical platform in support of ongoing campaigns, such as our college football and Heisman Trophy Tour initiatives. It’s a great way for Nissan to reach the right audiences in the right markets."
