Nissan is recalling 47,928 Cube models from the 2009-2010 model years for defective steering wheel airbags.
According to a report to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), “driver’s airbag inflator on certain Nissan Cube vehicles may contain an improper body weld seal to the inflator base.”
This issue could cause the airbag to separate from the steering wheel during deployment, potentially causing injury to the driver or passengers.
The company is not aware of any warranty claims, accidents, or injuries related to this recall.
Nissan dealers will check the serial number and replace suspect driver’s airbag inflators.
This service is free of charge, as recall repairs always are.
Owners with affected vehicles will be notified beginning May 27, 2026.
