New McLaren Supercar teased for Paris

While offering no specific details, McLaren Automotive is expected to provide an early look at its next-generation supercar at the Paris Auto Show. Making its first-ever appearance at an international auto exhibition, the boutique automaker plans to use the event "to showcase future plans," and unveil its strategy to "fast forward the world of automotive."

The highlight of that presentation hinted at in this teaser image is rumored to be a more radically styled and even higher-performance sibling for its current MP4-12C. Code named P12, this new car is said to be the conceptual successor to the firm’s original McLaren F1 coupe and likely be fitted with a more potent hybrid powertrain that will include a sophisticated KERS (Kinetic Energy Recovery System) setup similar to the one used in today’s Formula One racing cars.
