Following up on the well-received BMW Zagato Coupe Concept that made its world debut in May at the prestigious Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este in Italy, a second collaborative effort between the German automaker and the famed Italian coachbuilder will be revealed at this weekend’s equally fabled Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance. While this sole teaser image of the new BMW Zagato Roadster Concept released in advance of the unveiling hides a good deal of the detail, we can see that this open-air two-seater appears to share quite a bit of its basic design character with the gorgeous Coupe Concept.
Although the new BMW Zagato Roadster Concept will be the star of its show, BMW also is exhibiting a number of other vehicles as part of the Pebble Beach festivities and associated Monterey Motorsport Reunion at nearby Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca. Highllghts include the North American debut of 2013 BMW 7 Series Sedan and its Alpina B7 performance variant, the 2013 BMW 650i Gran Coupe and the new BMW M6 and M6 models as well as the first American appearance of the awesome M8 Prototype, a trick 8 Series one-off created in 1990. Among the legendary BMW racing vehicles on track and on display will be the a 1975 BMW 3.5 CSL, 1980 BMW M1 Procar and a 1986 BMW-March GTP machine.
