The 2022 Kia Niro hybrid delivers an impressive combination of 50 mpg and a starting price below $25,000. It’s a smart value for those seeking high fuel economy at a lower price. Pricing for the 2022 Niro starts at $24,690 for the base LX, rising to $26,090 for the LXS, $27,590 for the LXS SE, $29,890 for the Niro Touring SE, and the top model, the EX Premium, is priced to start from $31,990.
So which version of the Niro is the most popular with consumers? According to our data, the best-seller of late is the 2022 Kia Niro EX Premium, which features this impressive list of standard equipment.

In addition to the fully-loaded nature of the EX Premium’s feature sheet, there are a host of standard safety features and equipment in the 2022 Kia Niro. Among the key active safety features included as standard are forward-collision warning with car/pedestrian/cyclist detection, lane-following assist, smart cruise control with stop-and-go, navigation-based smart cruise control, highway driving assist, lane-keep assist, blindspot warning with rear cross-traffic collision warning, and high-beam assist.
Loaded With Tech
With a large central display and integration for the latest and greatest automotive innovations from Apple or Android, the 2022 Kia Niro EX Premium still feels current, even if this is its last year before a full redesign. The EX Premium trim also brings with it a Harman Kardon 8-speaker audio system with subwoofer and Clari-Fi technology.
Bluetooth audio and hands-free calling, voice recognition commands, wireless phone charging, 12v and USB power, and the ability to schedule climate and charging for optimal pre-heat/cooling and low-cost charging are also standard.
What You Don’t Get
Because this is the top-of-the-line version of the 2022 Kia Niro, you might think there’s nothing the EX Premium doesn’t get, and in a way, you’d be right. But there is at least one piece of equipment that isn’t available on the current Niro EX Premium but is available on some lower tiers of the Niro: wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
That’s right, and it’s certainly counter-intuitive, but the 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system equipped by default in the Niro EX Premium only includes support for wired Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The 8.0-inch-display-based system in the Niro LX and Niro LXS, however, features a newer system that’s capable of wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
