We’ve had some big Amazon boxes show up. Sometimes even for small items, with most of the box packed with those little plastic air tubes used for cushioning. But this? Somebody’s gonna have a lot of those packing bubbles to pop.
Mitsubishi announced plans to reveal its 2022 Outlander SUV on Amazon Live (a streaming service much like YouTube) on February 16.
We know a bit about what to expect from the car itself. We’ve seen teaser photos of the Outlander in shadow. It looks like a larger, somewhat more truck-like SUV than the Outlander we know today. Aesthetically, it will be dominated by an hourglass front grille outlined with sweeping chrome lines.
Details on the mechanical bits are unknown. Most observers expect it to share a platform with the Nissan Rogue, thanks to a corporate partnership, and use a version of the same 2.5-liter 4-cylinder engine and Continuously Variable Transmission. Pricing is unknown, but the 2020 model it replaces starts at $24,895, not including the destination fee. Mitsubishi skipped the 2021 model year for Outlander.
Is there a destination fee, or shipping free with Amazon Prime? We kid – a disclaimer on the reveal’s website notes that “Amazon does not deliver vehicles.”
