Mitsubishi Ground Tourer Concept SUV Teased for Paris

Mitsubishi released this first teaser image of a plug-in hybrid one-off it will unveil at Paris Auto Show in September, a concept which hints at the next generation Outlander. Officially dubbed the Mitsubishi Ground Tourer Concept SUV, this elegant exercise in reflects the latest take on the automaker’s “Dynamic Shield” design language and “will offer effortless travel both on and off the beaten track, whatever the driving conditions.”

The sleekly styled 5-door expresses Mitsubishi’s vision for its future flagship SUVs in four dimensions – functional beauty, augmented possibilities, Japanese craftsmanship and solid thrust. The Ground Tourer Concept does appear to be larger than the current Outlander and its low-slung roofline coupled with faster windshield/backglass treatments clearly endow it with a notably more aggressive visual character. Only time will how much of the Ground Tourer Concept SUV actually does transfer into the upcoming production Outlander. However, it appears Mitsubishi is pretty serious about taking things to a new level of contemporary cool when the transition comes.
