Mini has revamped its logo, changing the 3-dimensional winged design into a 2-dimension black-and-white representation. Mini said the new logo is “a reduced design that focuses on the essentials.” The new-look badging will appear on all Mini products onward from next March.
This is the first overhaul of the modern Mini’s logo since the brand’s relaunch with an all-new model in November 2000. That design incorporated a high quality metallic look to the wings and wheel encircling the Mini named rendered in light colored letters on a dark background.

The new MINI logo draws on that previous depiction by applying an approach known as "flat design" that homes in on key graphic elements. It retains the winged wheel look with the brand name printed in capital letters at the center, in keeping with past tradition. But Mini says “The deliberate avoidance of shading and grey tones creates a starkly contrasting black-and-white effect that conveys the authenticity and clarity of the new brand identity, its two-dimensional character also allowing universal application.” The new badging will be used on the hood, on the rear liftgate, steering wheel hub and remote key fobs.
