We’ve all had a rough year, but teachers…teachers have had an absolutely brutal one. In an ordinary year, we ask too much of them. Most of us couldn’t skillfully control a classroom full of adults, never mind one full of children at varying stages of development with varying needs.
And the last year was not an ordinary year. We asked teachers to do it all remotely on little notice. Then we asked some to go back into classrooms while a pandemic continued evolving around us. We even asked some to move in and out and in and out of classrooms based on changing conditions.
Mazda has a plan to thank them. “We are grateful for all you do and to thank you, we would like to offer a complimentary oil change, vehicle cleaning, and inspection” to educators, the company says, “even if you don’t drive a Mazda.”
To be eligible, drivers must show a current driver’s license and ID card or pay stub from an education facility. Most common vehicles are eligible, though the offer does exclude exotic cars, classics, and “vehicles with greater than 8-quart engine oil capacity or any other vehicles with special manufacturer requirements or that require specialized tools or training.”
The offer is active until September 30, but educators can only take advantage once. Not all Mazda dealers are participating. Details are available at https://www.mazdausa.com/educators-appreciation-program.
The company extended a similar offer to health care workers in 2020, and gave away 50 2020 Mazda MX-5 Miata 100th Anniversary Special Editions to frontline workers selected for contributions to their communities last year.
