Lincoln has recalled 11,852 MKT SUVs from model years 2016-2019 because a piece of trim can fall off and become a road hazard.
Car designers letter the pillars that hold up a car’s roof from front to back. Lincoln tells federal safety officials that a piece of trim on the MKT’s B-pillar can separate from the car and fall off. Owners might notice a rattling noise as it loosens.
Dealers will fix the problem by reattaching the trim with new adhesive.
By law, dealers never charge for recall repairs.
Manufacturers recall many cars, often more than once, during their lifespan. Automakers try to contact every owner but don’t always reach them all. Discover if your vehicle has any outstanding recalls with the easy-to-use vehicle identification number (VIN) tool at our recall center.
