Lincoln has issued a second recall to fix an old lighting problem. Owners of eight 2022 Navigator SUVs need to bring them back in because a software update last year may not have worked.
The company recalled about a thousand Navigator SUVs last year to fix a problem that could keep the daytime running lights and side marker lamps from illuminating. Dealers fixed most with a software update.
The company has since learned that the system dealers used to update software could occasionally fail, but report success. At least eight times, dealers returned the recalled Navigator vehicles to the owners, believing it was fixed when the fix hadn’t worked.
Lincoln can identify those eight, and has a new procedure that should allow dealers to upload the software patch and verify that it worked.
